چکیده

Recently a new wave of interest to spectroscopy radioactive compounds has raised due successful applications the experimental ISOL/CRIS technique optical radium monofluoride molecules. This opens great prospects searches effects connected with ``new physics'' which point on deviations physical laws from those established by Standard Model elementary particles. Considerable advantages in experiments for search such would be provided abilities trap working molecules, their laser-coolability and presence co-magnitometer molecular states also variety accessible nuclear isotopes elements molecule different multipole moments. Laser-coolable polyatomic ions containing Ra nuclei shall meet above criteria present article we are considering number prospective calculating electronic structure properties.

Laser cooling of molecular anions.

We propose a scheme for laser cooling of negatively charged molecules. We briefly summarize the requirements for such laser cooling and we identify a number of potential candidates. A detailed computation study with C_{2}^{-}, the most studied molecular anion, is carried out. Simulations of 3D laser cooling in a gas phase show that this molecule could be cooled down to below 1 mK in only a few ...

HIGH RESOLUTION LASER SPECTROSCOPY IN COLD SUPERSONIC MOLECULAR BEAMS COOLING, REDUCTION OF DOPPLER WIDTH AND APPLICATION

The cooling of molecules during the adiabatic expansion of supersonic seeded molecular beams is reviewed and illustrated by the example of NO -molecules. The reduction of the Doppler width by collimation of the beam and the cooling to low rotational temperatures brings a significant simplification of the complex NO -absorption spectrum and allows its assignment. The measured rotational tem...

Molecular dynamics simulations of cooling in laser-excited heme proteins.

In transient optical experiments the absorbed photon raises the vibrational temperature of the chromophore. In heme proteins at room temperature conversion of a 530-nm photon into vibrational energy is estimated to raise the temperature of the heme by 500-700 K. Cooling of the heme is expected to occur mainly by interacting with the surrounding protein. We report molecular dynamics simulations ...

Blackbody-radiation-assisted laser cooling of molecular ions.

The translational motion of molecular ions can be effectively cooled sympathetically to temperatures below 100 mK in ion traps through Coulomb interactions with laser-cooled atomic ions. The distribution of internal rovibrational states, however, gets in thermal equilibrium with the typically much higher temperature of the environment within tens of seconds. We consider a concept for rotational...

Laser Cooling of Semiconductors

Optical irradiation accompanied by spontaneous anti-Stokes emission can lead to cooling of matter, a phenomenon known as laser cooling or optical refrigeration proposed in 1929 by Peter Pringsheim. In solid state materials, the cooling is achieved by annihilation of lattice vibrations (i.e., phonons). Since the first experimental demonstration in rare-earth doped glasses, considerable progress ...
